Temple Newsam

Temple Newsam is an Historic Estate situated on the East of Leeds near Crossgates, around 5 miles from the City Centre of Leeds.

Set within over 1500 acres of parkland, woodland and farmland, there are many footpaths and lots of wildlife to be seen.
Originally landscaped in the 18th century by Capability Brown, the mansion, a Tudor-Jacobean house has recently undergone a missive restoration project with help from lottery funding, and now has access for the disabled.

The mansion houses collections of fine artwork, antiquities and ceramics, and has several restored period rooms.
The gardens surrounding the house are works of art themselves, and can be explored by all visitors.
Several exhibitions are hosted here throughout the year.

Along with the mansion Temple Newsam also has ‘Home Farm’ a working farm that visitors can explore, and experience recreated workshops, exhibitions and rare breeds.
